Training at Lanark Rugby Club
Training at Lanark Rugby Club is all about developing skills, building confidence and enjoying rugby in a fun and supportive environment. Our sessions are designed for all abilities, whether players are completely new to the game or looking to develop their experience further.
Led by dedicated volunteer coaches, training focuses on teamwork, fitness, coordination and game skills while encouraging players to enjoy being active and part of a team. Rugby also helps young players build friendships, improve confidence and develop important life skills such as communication, discipline and respect.
At Lanark Rugby Club, every player is encouraged to learn, improve and enjoy the game at their own pace in a positive community environment.
A Clear Rugby Pathway for Every Player
Lanark Rugby Club is structured to give players the opportunity to develop at the right pace as they grow in age, confidence and ability. By creating four clear stages within the club, players can enjoy rugby in a supportive environment while building skills and progressing naturally through the age groups.
Each section is designed to match the development of the players, helping them enjoy the game, make friends and grow as part of the club community.
Our rugby pathway includes:
- Micros – An introduction to rugby for Primary 1 to Primary 3
- Minis – Developing core rugby skills for Primary 4 to Primary 7
- Midis – Structured and competitive rugby from under 13 to under 18
- Senior Rugby – Opportunities to progress into adult rugby and represent the club
This pathway allows players to move confidently through the club, supported by volunteer coaches and a strong community spirit at every stage of their rugby journey.
